The Care Team: Love in Action

Our Care Team is the extension of God's love within our church and community. Our vision is to serve humbly, reaching out a hand of love and support to those who are hurting or in need, all In The Name of Christ.

Our Vision and Purpose

Our service is rooted in the biblical principles of using our unique gifts to support one another, as described in Romans 12:4-13.

Humble Service in the Body of Christ (Romans 12:4-8)

We believe in humble service by recognizing that we are one body with many members, each having different gifts. Whether it is serving, teaching, encouraging, or showing mercy, we are committed to exercising our gifts diligently and cheerfully to build up the church.

Love in Action (Romans 12:9-13)

We strive for sincere love that is devoted, honorable, and fervent. Our team is committed to:

  • Being joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.

  • Sharing with the Lord’s people who are in need.

Our Purpose

Our hands-on purpose is to be:

  • A help to the brokenhearted.

  • A source of provision for those in need.

  • A supporting arm that shows God's Love to others.

  • An encourager who builds others up in God's love and service.

  • A kind, compassionate, and caring mercy giver.

What We Do: Extending the Hand of Care

The Care Team extends practical support through several key areas of ministry:

Visitation

We care for, encourage, pray for, and reach out to those who cannot physically join us:

  • Hospital: Visiting those admitted to the hospital, including families of the admitted, and supporting those in the emergency room.

  • Home: Continuing to encourage and pray for those recovering at home, including our shut-ins (those unable to attend church due to illness, recovery, or disability).

  • Rehabilitation & Nursing Home: Reaching out to those who are rehabilitating after an illness or injury or are placed in long-term nursing home care.

Encouragement

We lift up those who are hurting, ill, or going through a major life crisis by:

  • Sending encouragement cards.

  • Providing worship service CD/DVDs.

  • Making personal phone calls.

  • Preparing Blessing Baskets.

  • Operating a Prayer Shawl Ministry.

  • Offering Resource Referrals for specialized help.

Bereavement Ministry

We offer comfort and support to grieving families:

  • Giving our time, hearing their thoughts, and sharing their tears.

  • Providing encouragement through letters during the grief process.

  • Preparing and assisting with a memorial meal for the immediate family after a death.

Helping Hands

We share the love of God through the gift of simple service by assisting with:

  • Minor home repairs and maintenance.

  • Light handyman tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, simple plumbing/electrical).

  • Light house and yard work.
