Children’s Ministry Director

 

This is currently a part-time position for someone who is looking to be fully engaged in the life of First Baptist.

We hope that this position will grow as the ministry grows.

The Children’s Ministry Director will work to grow children spiritually through Sunday morning children’s church (currently titled FBC Kidz), children’s programs and special events. 

 

Qualifications:
•    Live a lifestyle that honors Jesus, is biblically consistent and in line with the beliefs of FBC, safe and welcoming for children and adults.
•    Become an active member of First Baptist Church who affirms and follows the church's statement of faith and constitution.
•    A heart to minister to children and their families.
•    The ability to develop trusting relationships with children and parents.
•    The capacity and desire to enthusiastically plan and execute programs and events.
•    Ability to clearly share the gospel with different age groups.
•    Desire to work together with other staff to maximize kingdom impact.
•    Ability to handle confidential information and maintain a budget with transparency and accountability.

 

Responsibilities:
•    Maintain and update children’s ministry page on church website, along with develop and maintain a presence on social media for parents.
•    Find and impliment curriculum for Sunday morning FBC Kidz programs. (FBC Kidz consists of grades Pre-K through 5th grade)
•    Recruit and train volunteers for Sunday morning FBC Kidz.
•    Work with Nursery Coordinator and volunteers to develop a schedule for morning worship service and Sunday School hour.
•    Teach and coordinate the children’s church program during 10:00 worship hour
•    Develop, and oversee a mid-week Pre-K through 5th grade children’s program.
•    Work with the VBS Director to organize and plan a yearly VBS program.
•    Plan and execute seasonal and special ministry events and activities (including but not limited to Treats and Treasures at Halloween, children’s Christmas program performance, Easter worship service, Spring or Summer event). 
•    Develop and run one family event each quarter.
•    Recruit, develop and train volunteers from within the congregation.
•    Actively participate and engage in other ministries and activities outside of Children’s Ministry.
•    Coordinate with other staff members to maximize potential and share the overall ministry of the church.
•    Encourage parents to participate in family events with the children.
•    Participate in weekly staff meeting in the church office.
•    Maintain a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week to include Sunday mornings and future midweek programming.
 

Salary and Benefits
•   $18 per hour (20 hour workweek, annual salary: $18,720.00)
•    4 Services off a year with pay (either Sundays or Wednesdays with approval)

*This is a part time position with the opportunity to grow as the ministry gorws.
