John Rader

General Manager

John also serves as Green Golf Partners COO and oversees operations of clubs in Racine, Eau Claire, and Rhinelander. John worked at New Berlin Hills from 1995-2014. He really enjoys the relationships built and daily interaction with all our guests. John is married to Julie who works for Masterlock as the VP of HR. He enjoys watching both kids, Eden (14) play volleyball, Basketball and Softball and his son Ethan (17) play Football. Both attend Wisconsin Lutheran High School. 

 

 

 

Wendy Hafemann

Food & Beverage Director


Wendy comes from a vast background in customer Food and Beverage service.  She was previously the General Manager of Food and Beverage Operations at Windwood of Watertown golf courses. Following that, Wendy served as General Manager for various restaurants in Wisconsin since 2011. Wendy has joined our team in 2018 to help continue to grow our Food and Beverage department.  Wendy enjoys having a good time at work and making people happy.  She is consistently coming up with new and exciting ideas to keep up with trends and customer demands.  When she is not at the office, she enjoys working in her yard or finding a new home improvement project to take on.  Her dream is to one day have enough land that she could start her own animal recuse sanctuary.  Make sure to stop in and say hi! 

 

 

Chad Kirchen

Superintendent


Chad has been a part of the New Berlin Hills team for nine years. He officially moved into the role of Superintendent in 2019 and is excited to have a course of his own and make wonderful improvements on the course. He takes great pride in maintaining the golf course making for an optimal playing experience. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Social Science and History from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. Shortly after, he went on to receive an advanced certification in Turf Grass Management from Penn State University. After spending days on the course, Chad continues enjoying outdoor activities, including landscape design and hunting. He has also coached wrestling for eight years.

 

 

James Matlock

Kitchen Manager/Head Chef

 

James began his culinary career nearly 35 years ago at Ruby Tuesday in the old Southridge Mall. Throughout his career he has worked with many successful restaurants in Milwaukee and assisted opening new ones, including TGI Friday's at Miller Park for the Brewers' inaugural season in 2001. He continued to advance his career as a contracted Kitchen Manager for major company events such as the US Post Office, Caterpiller, BMO Harris Bank, and Aramark. In 2017, James became the Executive Chef at Autumn Leaves, a Memory Care Facility for Alzheimer's patients. After his success there, he joined our team at NBH in early 2019. James is extremely passionate about cooking and it shows in his food. His creativity and upbeat charisma will be a great addition to our strong team. James has been married for 16 years and has a daughter. When he is not making delicious meals, he and his family enjoy fishing, festivals, movies and are avid Bucks and Packers fans! Feel free to stop by and say hi and try some of his amazing food!

 

 

Drake Schilz

Director of Instruction


Drake has been a valuable member of the New Berlin Hills team since 2012. Initially hired as a cart attendant working outside operations, Drake demonstrated interest and value and after two seasons moved into the role of a golf shop assistant. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay prior to becoming a full-time Assistant Golf Professional. He has a vast knowledge of the golf swing and equipment and is continuously growing in his career path. Away from the course, Drake stays active with running, cycling, and hiking and is a loyal Packer, Tar Heel, and Tiger Woods fan.
