Pastor Duane has been serving the United Methodist Church as a pastor since 1996. He is a graduate of School for Lay Ministry (SLM) and Saint Paul School of Theology’s Course of Study (COS), in Kansas City.

He and his wife Sheryll celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last August. They have two daughters and nine grandchildren.

Pastor Duane retired in 2005 but then was called to serve at 1st United Methodist Church in Des Moines as Visitation and Pastoral care pastor. He served there in that capacity for 3 years until he retired again, for what he thought was the last time. But soon after that he received a call from the Central District Superintendent to serve as an interim pastor and has served several churches as interim pastor since 2011.

Pastor Duane will serve Centennial for the remainder of 2019.
